Recreational activities are the core aims of the camp. All the activity programmes are not only recreational but also educational. Therefore, daily activities such as painting, table games, athletics etc. may at the same time become educational. This is due to the organisational skills and versatility of the staff and team leaders who can, for example, treat the changing of bed linen or daily cleaning like a game and the children may even compose a song.
“Everywhere we go! (Everywhere we go), people always ask us (people always ask us), who we are (who we are), where we come from (where we come from), so we tell them (so we tell them), we are from Kalivas (we are from Kalivas), and if they cannot hear us (and if they cannot hear us), we shout a little louder!”
“From coast to coast, camp Kalivas is the most, from coast to coast, na na na na na, from east to west camp Kalivas is the best, from state to state camp Kalivas is really great, from city to city camp Kalivas is really pretty. “
“We welcome you to our fun camp, we’re really glad you’re here, we’ll send the air reverberating, with a mighty cheer. We’ll sing you in, we’ll sing you out, and we will raise a mighty shout, YEA! Hail! Hail! The gang’s all here. Welcome to our fun camp!”
“This is the song that never ends, it goes on and on my friend! Some people started singing it. Not knowing what it was. And we’ll continue singing it forever just because…”
